Runecraft
Runecraft is skill that was implemented to RSC Cabbage several months after the servers initial launch. While it was seen in later iterations of official RuneScape such as RuneScape 2, it was never implemented in Classic, and is thus not included in RSC Preservation.
RSC Cabbage
Players are able to start training the skill after completing the Rune Mysteries quest. At this time only runes up to Nature-Runes are able to be created. The Law-Rune and Death-Rune altars are present in the games code, however their corresponding Talismans are currently unreleased.
Rune Stones
Rune Stones are blank rune rocks that can be bound at various altars throughout Runescape to turn them into the runes needed to case magical spells. Rune Stones can be mined from a special place accessible after completing the Rune Mysteries quest. To access this place one must be teleported by Aubury (Rune shop NPC just south of Varrock's East Bank) or by Wizard Sedridor who is found in the basement of the Wizard's tower.
Talismans / Altars
Players can make their own Talismans by using a chisel on a Rune Stone to make an Uncharged talisman. The player can then use 10 of a single type of rune on the talisman to charge it (player will lose the 10 runes). Talismans cannot be purchased in any NPC shop but are tradeable and can be sold in the Auction House.
Multiple runes
At higher Runecraft levels multiple runes are obtained from every blank Rune Stone. However, the experience gained remains per Rune Stone used, not per rune crafted.

Buffing Talismans / Experience Bonus
There are additional ways to use talismans that provide bonus experience when crafting runes. These two ways are by making either cursed or enfeebled talismans.
To make these either cast the Curse or Enfeeble spell on a normal talisman.
Talisman Type | Bonus Experience | Talisman Breaks When Used | Crafted Runes Are Kept | Runecraft Level Temporarily Drained | Hitpoint Damage Taken |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cursed Talismans | 2× | Yes | Yes | No | No |
Enfeebled Talismans | 5× | Yes | No | Yes† | Yes |
† Drained Runecraft Effect: It is possible and very likely that a drained Runecraft level can prevent you from using Cursed or Enfeebled talismans, both of which require higher levels to use than the base level to make their respective runes. Runecraft potion (recovers 3 points), Super Runecraft potion (recovers 6 points), and the Rapid Restore prayer can help recover from this effect while power-training.
Potions
Runecraft potions temporarily raise a player's Runecraft skill by 3 levels and Super Runecraft potions by 6 levels. These can be useful for crafting runes - or taking advantage of runecraft multiplier tiers - slightly above ones current level.
