Quest mechanics timeline

Playing through the quests by release date, the astute player will notice that every quest introduces a new quest mechanic that then reappears in later quests. Knowing this can help in creating new quests for RuneScape Classic Cabbage. A coder should invent a new quest mechanic, and write a quest around it.

Skills ranked by AFK-ability

There are two types of AFK-ability. True AFK-ability where the player can click, leave their computer for a while then come back and click again. And 'low-attention' where clicking has to be performed periodically but the actions are always the same so the game can be played on a second montior while something more interesting is done in the meanwhile, such as watching videos.

Rank Skill AFKability Check screen every... Method
1 Melee Highest 10 minutes Find a spot in the wilderness where enemies much weaker than you will attack you automatically. Low-level: rats, thugs. Mid-level: skeletons, pirates, hill giants. High-level: axe hut. Alternatively, put on a Ring of Life and afk at a non-wilderness enemy that's more than half-minus-one your combat level.
2 Fishing Very high 2 minutes Click on fishing spot. Check back in about 2 minutes to click on fishing spot again. Most afk-able when fish not banked.
3 Harvesting High 1.5 minutes Click Red Cabbage, Corn plant, or fruit tree and check back in 1.5 minutes to click again. Have full inventory of soil buckets to improve obtain rate.
4 Prayer High-medium 1 minute Caveat: only afk-able if bones are out of bank. Use bank chest, Bury All bones, wait 1 minute, repeat.
5 Cooking Medium-high 1 minute Withdraw inventory of raw fish, click on raw fish then fire outside Edgeville bank, check back in 1 minute to bank and repeat.
6 Firemaking High-medium 1 minute Withdraw inventory of logs and tinderbox outside a bank. Set first log on fire, all subsequent logs will get lit automatically.
7 Woodcut Medium <1 minute Click on magic tree or yew tree, check back sooner than a minute to click on next tree. Most afk-able if logs not banked.
8 Smithing Medium 40 seconds Smelting an inventory load of gold ore while wearing Goldsmithing Gauntlets in Shilo Village. AFK-ability doubled if Crafting is trained alongside it by bringing gold amulet mould.
9 Crafting Medium 40 seconds Paired with Smithing, doing inventories of gold amulets or silver Saradomin symbols in Shilo Village. Alternatively for profit, doing inventories of bowstrings in Falador (you can lock one banker out of the bank to shorten the trip between bank and spinning wheel. When a banker is standing on the southwesternmost corner of the bank, quickly stand on top of him and click him to engage conversation. Banker will move outside the bank, and immediately close the door to trap him).
10 Ranged Medium 0.5-1 minute Find caged enemy such as Guard Dogs in Ardy, Ogres in Combat Training Camp, or Lesser Demon in Wizard Tower. Click to attack, check back in 0.5-1 minute. Ring of Avarice a must.
11 Mining Low-Medium 20 seconds Click on gold, coal, or iron rock then check back in 20 seconds to click again. Deep Mining Camp room with only Addy and Mith rocks can be used to improve afkability since high-tier rocks take longer to mine (don't bother bank these because mith and addy ore is rarely bought or smithed).
12 Fletching Low 10-30 seconds You don't have to pay attention to the screen while an inventory of bows are being fletched. Stringing halves the amount of afk time you get.
13 Herblore Low 10-20 seconds At a bank chest, cleaning an inventory of muddy herbs is most afkable aspect. Putting 15 herbs or secondary ingredients into water vials has short afkableness.
14 Thieving Low 5-40 seconds Pickpocket various targets. Significantly lower-level targets will allow you to fill your entire batch progress bar per attempt with no or very few fails.
15 Runecraft Very low 10 seconds Walking to altars (body or earth) are the only times you don't have to pay attention to the screen.
16 Magic None 0 Since constant casting in a rythmic pattern is required, it cannot be afk'd, but low attention can be paid to the screen while high-alching or casting spells on a high-HP caged enemy, such as Hero's Guild blue dragon.
17 Agility None 0 Whether Wildy agility course or Yanille agility dungeon rope swing, attention must be held at all times to click on the right spot.

NPCs that can be trapped outside of their home location

Some NPCs that can be talked to can be moved by the player because they exhibit the following behaviour: they cannot be talked to while the player is standing on the same square as they are; the NPC will walk to a different square (often south-west) to engage in dialog. The following NPCs can be moved around by the player:

  1. Hetty can be trapped outside of her house.
  2. Bankers in Falador's south bank can be trapped outside of the bank.
  3. Aubury can be trapped outside of his building, and even trapped inside Thrander's building.

Attackable NPCs can also be lured then trapped outside their home location by firing Magic or Ranged at them, then closing the door of their home location once they pass the threshold. The following NPCs can be lured by ranged combat:

  1. Mountain Dwarves can be locked outside their hall in the Dwarven tunnel.

This list is unfinished.

Adjacent game tiles with furtherest walk distance

The game tiles (672, 719) and (671, 720), despite being diagonally adjacent, require a 2m45s to walk between them. This is southwest of the Tree Gnome Village maze and requires a trip of going through the maze, through the Fight Arena, and through Yanille.
